“It's SOOOO beautiful! ...When I read it I kept seeing/imagining a man reading it as part of a commencement speech to an audience of young men. Don't know why I saw this...maybe it was a picture prayer that this message reaches lots and lots of men--young and old and in between.”
- Paige Britt, author of Why Am I Me

“A Boy Like You has an empowering and positive message which can have an impact whether you are 8 years, 16 years old or an adult -- it can be kept on a shelf and read over and over again. “

- Kathy Morrison, Owner Newtown Bookshop, Newtown, PA

“A Boy Like You, I can’t even explain the #heartbeeps because they are wicked, wicked BIG. It’s beautiful and perfect and the world is going to love it. And my mom cried reading it to me.”

There's more to being a boy than sports, feats of daring, and keeping a stiff upper lip. A Boy Like You encourages every boy to embrace all the things that make him unique, to be brave and ask for help, to tell his own story and listen to the stories of those around him. In an age when boys are expected to fit into a particular mold, this book celebrates all the wonderful ways to be a boy.

Brave Clara Barton

Read & learn about one of History's bravest icons!!!

This fantastic book is almost 50 pages but manages to make them interesting and easy to read. Biographies are great, but when they cross into learning about a President and saving the environment, it's a perfect mix for a school library. This book could be featured by a teacher for a variety of lessons, as well as a read alone for a student. I would add this book quickly to my collection!

Grinning broadly as he looms monumentally over everyone in Walz's exuberant cartoons, Babe Ruth cuts a truly heroic figure for Murphy's easy-to-read tribute to the greatest ball player of them all...the lighthearted tone in which Murphy delivers it...A solid hit for the Step into Reading series.
